Explore and create basic forms and functions of ceramic ware for eating, cooking, and general use in the kitchen. Students will work from historic shapes as well as everyday forms found in contemporary kitchens. Participants will be encouraged to make everything from bundt cake pans to citrus reamers, and of course, some favorites such as nesting bowls, teapots, and dinner plates. This is a great class for those interested in continuing their experience as hand builders and throwers but it will also be ideal for those who have always wanted to try. Instructor Lily Stratton has her BA in 3-Dimensional Studio Art from Bob Jones University and exhibits in her West Greenville ceramics studio. Materials list mailed with confirmation. Lab fee: $39 payable at first class.
